KEBA SI485/422 is a serial communication expansion module of KEBA Kemro K2 control system, widely matched with ENGEL injection molding machines and die-casting equipment. It provides RS485 and RS422 dual standard serial interfaces, which can connect external sensors, secondary displays and third-party slave devices that adopt Modbus RTU and other serial protocols. It realizes bidirectional data exchange between the master CPU and peripheral serial devices, and it is often used for collecting auxiliary monitoring data and parameter interaction in molding production.

This module communicates with the rack master controller via proprietary Kemro K-Bus backplane. It supports flexible switching between RS485 half-duplex mode and RS422 full-duplex mode through software configuration, adapting to different wiring schemes and communication distances. The communication circuit adopts galvanic isolation design to cut off ground loop interference and suppress noise generated by hydraulic pumps and solenoid valves. LED indicators on the front panel display data sending, receiving and fault status, helping maintenance engineers quickly judge communication quality and locate abnormal points.

Engineers can set baud rate, parity and station address in KEBA engineering software. Built-in communication watchdog continuously monitors data transmission. When frame error, response timeout or hardware fault is detected, alarm information will be uploaded to the HMI and trigger safety prompt to avoid incorrect parameter reading. The PCB circuit adopts conformal coating treatment, with good shock resistance and EMC performance, adapting to dusty and oil mist workshop environment.

It adopts standard rack plug-in installation structure and matches Kemro K2-200 / K2-400 backplane rack. This KEBA SI485/422 module has been discontinued by the manufacturer, and it is supplied in the aftermarket as a replacement spare part for legacy ENGEL injection molding machines.
