KEBA E-CPU-88-B is an early rack-mounted main CPU module of KEBA KePlast control family, widely used on old European injection molding machines and hydraulic automation equipment. It serves as the core processing unit of the control rack, responsible for PLC logic operation, hydraulic sequence control, safety interlock judgment and local recipe storage.

This module collects 24VDC dry contact signals from safety interlock switches, limit sensors and proximity detectors, and analog feedback signals from pressure and displacement transducers. It executes the solidified injection molding cycle program, and outputs control commands to matched KEBA I/O modules and hydraulic proportional valves, to complete clamping, injection, holding pressure, plasticizing and ejection sequence actions. It is a classic low-speed real-time controller designed for traditional hydraulic molding equipment.

It is equipped with proprietary backplane bus and serial communication ports for data exchange with supporting I/O boards and operator panels. Local non-volatile memory saves machine configuration parameters, product recipes and historical fault records. Maintenance engineers can use the matched KEBA old version software to upload, download and back up program parameters for debugging and spare replacement.

It integrates watchdog circuit and basic hardware self-diagnosis logic. It continuously monitors bus communication status and internal operating state. If communication interruption or hardware abnormality is detected, it triggers alarm signal and cuts off control output, to avoid mold collision and mechanical damage. The circuit board adopts conformal coating treatment, with excellent vibration resistance and EMC performance, adapting to dusty and high electromagnetic interference plastic workshop environment.

It adopts standard plug-in rack installation structure and must work with the matching old-version backplane and peripheral I/O modules. This model has been discontinued by KEBA factory, mainly used for equipment overhaul, control cabinet renovation and spare parts replacement of legacy injection molding machines. Direct replacement can restore the control system without modifying original wiring and peripheral hardware.
