KEBA DO272/A is a 14-channel galvanically isolated digital output expansion module of KEBA KeConnect and Kemro K2 series, widely used on ENGEL hydraulic injection molding machines and die-casting automation equipment. Compared with DO242/A, this module provides more output points, which is suitable for injection machines with multiple heating zones, multi-group solenoid valve control and rich auxiliary sequential actuators. It converts control commands from the master CPU into stable switching signals to drive hydraulic valves, contactors, solid state relays and on-site indicator lights.

This module communicates with the main controller via proprietary Kemro K-Bus backplane. It receives logic instructions for clamping, injection, holding pressure, plasticizing, ejection and lubrication sequences. Each channel is rated 2A at 50% simultaneity and equipped with fast shutdown circuit specially designed for inductive coil loads, which can absorb reverse electromotive force generated by hydraulic solenoid valves and extend the service life of actuators. The 14 output channels are divided into two independent groups for grouped protection. If short-circuit or overload occurs on one channel, the corresponding group will cut off output rapidly while the other group keeps running normally.

Orange LED status indicators are arranged on the front panel for each channel, so maintenance engineers can directly judge channel on/off status and fault location on site. Operators and engineers can configure signal mapping and parameter assignment through KEBA engineering software. Built-in continuous channel diagnosis and bus watchdog circuit monitor signal integrity constantly. When communication interruption, overcurrent or hardware abnormality is detected, fault information will be uploaded to the HMI to remind operators and avoid misoperation of the mold. The PCB adopts conformal coating treatment, featuring good shock resistance and EMC immunity, adapting to dusty and oil mist workshop environment.

It adopts standard rack plug-in structure and matches Kemro K2-200 / K2-400 backplane system. This DO272/A model has been discontinued by KEBA factory, and it is supplied in the aftermarket as a high-point-count replacement spare part for legacy ENGEL injection molding machines. Technicians can replace the faulty module safely after power cut without modifying the original field wiring and control program.
