TRICONEX 3009 also known as UMP Enhanced Main Processor Module is the core control unit built with triple modular redundancy (TMR) architecture for Triconex Tricon safety instrumented systems (SIS). This UMP safety controller module executes user safety logic, performs 2-out-of-3 voting on all input signals, processes control algorithms and sends output commands to Tricon I/O modules. The Tricon enhanced main processor module manages internal rack communication, system fault diagnosis and data synchronization between three independent processor channels. It is equipped with multiple communication interfaces for connecting engineering workstations, HMI, DCS and SCADA systems, supporting mainstream communication protocols for real-time data exchange. Built-in comprehensive hardware diagnostics continuously monitor processor, memory, bus and power status, and report fault alarms to the engineering workstation immediately once any anomaly is detected. When one processor channel fails, the TMR voting mechanism ensures the safety system continues running without interruption. Front panel LED indicators display run, fault, communication and diagnostic status for convenient on-site inspection and maintenance. It can be installed in the dedicated processor slot of standard Tricon rack, matched with Tricon power supply and I/O modules.
