TRICONEX 3002 also known as MP3002 is the main processor module adopting triple modular redundancy (TMR) architecture for Triconex Tricon safety instrumented systems (SIS). This TMR safety controller module is the core computing unit of the Tricon rack, responsible for executing safety logic programs, processing all I/O signals collected from field modules, performing 2-out-of-3 voting calculations and handling system configuration management. The Tricon main processor module needs three modules to form a complete TMR redundant group. When one processor channel fails, the remaining two channels can continue to run the safety program without system shutdown. It supports real-time processing of safety variables, alarm events and SOE sequence of events data, and cooperates with communication modules to transmit data to DCS, HMI and engineering workstations. It continuously monitors processor operation, memory status and internal hardware health, and sends fault alarm signals to the engineering workstation once abnormalities are detected. The module supports hot swap operation, maintenance personnel can replace the faulty processor module online without shutting down the whole safety system. Front panel LED indicators display module PASS, FAULT and synchronization status for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. It is installed in the dedicated processor slot of standard Tricon rack and cooperates with all Tricon I/O and communication modules. Widely applied in oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical and power industries, this TRICONEX 3002 main processor module executes safety logic for ESD emergency shutdown, fire and gas detection and burner management protection systems.
