TRICONEX 3006 also known as EMPII 3006 is an enhanced main processor module built with triple modular redundancy (TMR) architecture for Triconex Tricon safety instrumented systems (SIS). This TMR safety controller module serves as the core computing unit of the Tricon rack, responsible for executing safety logic programs, collecting all I/O signals, performing 2-out-of-3 voting, backplane bus management and SOE sequence of events recording. The Tricon enhanced main processor module needs three modules to form a complete TMR redundant group. When one processor channel fails, the remaining two channels can automatically undertake full load to maintain uninterrupted operation of the safety system. It supports high-speed TriBus backplane communication, and cooperates with communication modules to transmit safety variables, alarm events and diagnostic data to DCS, HMI and engineering workstation. It continuously monitors processor operation, memory and internal hardware health status, and will trigger fault alarm signals once input abnormalities or hardware failures are detected. The module supports hot swap operation, maintenance personnel can replace the faulty processor module online without shutting down the whole safety rack. Front panel LED indicators display module PASS, FAULT and synchronization status for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. It is compatible with Tricon V9 and V10 system versions, and can cooperate with all Tricon series I/O modules.
