TRICONEX 2301 also known as DI2301 is a 16-channel TMR digital input module built with triple modular redundancy (TMR) architecture for Triconex Tricon safety instrumented systems (SIS). This TMR safety I/O module collects 24VDC discrete signals from field emergency stop buttons, pressure switches, limit switches and dry contact sensors, and converts these on-site status signals into digital data and transmits to the Tricon main controller. The Tricon 16 channel digital input module adopts independent channel isolation design to resist ground loop noise and electromagnetic interference from long field wiring. Continuous built-in channel diagnostics can detect open circuit, short circuit and internal hardware anomalies, and send fault alarm information to the Tricon engineering workstation in real time. The module supports hot swap operation, maintenance personnel can replace the faulty unit online without shutting down the whole safety system. Front panel LED indicators display module health status and each channel signal state for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. It applies 2-out-of-3 voting logic to eliminate single point of failure and fully meets SIL3 safety integrity level requirements. It can be installed in standard Tricon rack and cooperates with Tricon processor and other I/O modules. Widely applied in oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical and power industries, this TRICONEX 2301 digital input module is used for ESD emergency shutdown, fire and gas monitoring and burner management safety control systems.
