GE IC697CPM790 is a single-slot triple modular redundancy (TMR) CPU module developed for GE Fanuc Series 90-70 PLC platform. This PLC controller module adopts a 64MHz 80486DX2 32-bit microprocessor with floating-point arithmetic capability, and it executes Boolean instructions at 0.4 microseconds per instruction to deliver fast logic scanning and complex process calculation. The Series 90-70 TMR CPU module is equipped with 1MB battery-backed RAM, up to 512KB of which can be allocated for user ladder logic programs and process data. The built-in lithium battery can retain stored data for around 6 months after power loss. It comes with one 15-pin sub-D serial port supporting RS422/RS485 communication for programming and data exchange with HMI and host systems. This CPU is specially designed for TMR safety control systems, performing signal voting and fault diagnosis among three independent CPU channels to eliminate single point of failure. In simplex mode, it supports up to 12K mixed discrete I/O points and 8K analog I/O points; under TMR configuration, it supports 2048 voted discrete I/O and 1024 voted analog I/O points. Four LED status indicators on the front panel show run, fault and diagnostic status for technicians to quickly identify system anomalies. It adopts plug-in rack mounting design and occupies one slot of Series 90-70 chassis.
