The ProSoft RLX-IFH24S-A is a RadioLinx frequency hopping spread spectrum industrial serial radio modem operating on the license-free 2.4GHz ISM band, built for reliable long-distance serial wireless communication for industrial SCADA and remote instrument systems. It is designed as a substitute for 900MHz radios when local regulations restrict 900MHz frequency usage or the 900MHz band is heavily congested. This radio integrates both RS232 and RS485 serial ports, supporting mainstream serial protocols including Modbus RTU, DF1, DNP3 and ASCII. Users can configure the unit as master, remote or repeater to build point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and store-and-forward repeater network topologies. It adopts 128-bit AES encryption to protect industrial serial data from unauthorized access. The communication engine uses 32-bit CRC check and ARQ automatic retransmission mechanism to reduce packet loss under electromagnetic interference. The adjustable air data rate supports 230kbps,172kbps,115kbps and 19.2kbps, and the line-of-sight transmission distance can reach over 15 miles with high-gain directional antennas. ControlScape configuration software is used for parameter setup, network debugging and firmware upgrade, and the matching OPC server allows HMI to monitor radio signal strength, packet statistics and communication status in real time. The serial wireless transmission works independently, so data forwarding will not occupy the PLC scan cycle or interfere with the original control logic. This model is discontinued and only supplied as spare parts for legacy remote serial automation renovation projects.

This radio adopts compact aluminum alloy housing and DIN rail mounting. It is equipped with one RP-SMA antenna connector, RS232 and RS485 terminal interfaces, and accepts 9VDC to 24VDC wide-range DC power supply. LED indicators display power status, serial port activity and wireless link status for fast on-site troubleshooting. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 75°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It has obtained FCC, cULus Class I Division 2 certifications, meets industrial shock, vibration and EMC standards for surge and electrostatic interference. It supports configuration backup for convenient equipment replacement.

This 2.4GHz FHSS serial radio modem is widely used in water remote pumping stations, oil and gas wellhead monitoring, pipeline SCADA, remote meter reading and power distribution automation projects. It replaces buried serial cables and establishes stable wireless links for serial PLCs, RTUs and field transmitters.
