Product Details
The ProSoft AN-X2-AB-DHRIO is a compact DIN-rail mounted multi-function gateway, designed to bridge EtherNet/IP networks with legacy Allen-Bradley DH+ and Remote I/O (RIO) networks for phased automation system migration. It supports multiple operating modes including Remote I/O scanner, RIO adapter, HMI interface, drive interface and DH+ messaging bridge, so users can upgrade old PLC-5, SLC 500, Remote I/O racks and DH+ devices without full system replacement or massive modification of existing control logic. This gateway connects modern EtherNet/IP controllers such as ControlLogix and CompactLogix to vintage RIO adapters, Flex I/O racks, remote I/O drives and DH+ PLC stations. It supports all standard Remote I/O baud rates of 57.6k, 115.2k and 230.4k baud, and can emulate up to 16 RIO racks with octal rack addresses ranging from 0 to 76, supporting partial racks and block transfer read and write functions. For DH+ mode, it works as a DH+ network node with octal address range 0 to 77, handling PCCC messaging and MSG instruction forwarding between EtherNet/IP and DH+ devices. The built-in web server allows users to configure operation modes, check real-time communication status, view diagnostic counters, upload configuration files and update firmware directly via browser, no extra dedicated configuration software required. It is equipped with a microSD card slot for storing configuration and firmware, supporting fast configuration backup and one-click recovery during hardware replacement. It can be used to replace old Remote I/O HMIs with new EtherNet/IP HMIs, connect new EtherNet/IP drives to traditional RIO scanners, and add EtherNet/IP communication capability to DH+ controllers without native Ethernet ports. The gateway runs independently, data conversion and message forwarding will not affect the operation of the original PLC control logic. It provides complete diagnostic information including network heartbeat, message error count, timeout alarms and rack status, which helps technicians quickly locate communication faults on legacy DH+ and RIO networks. A conformal coated version is optional for humid, dusty and corrosive industrial environments. This gateway is widely used in manufacturing, water treatment, oil & gas, material handling and other legacy Rockwell automation renovation projects.
This gateway adopts compact plastic housing for standard DIN rail mounting. It is equipped with one 10/100Mbps auto-MDIX Ethernet port, one dedicated terminal port for DH+ and Remote I/O connection, accepts 12VDC or 24VDC power supply, typical power consumption is 100mA at 24VDC, maximum power dissipation is 2.4W. LED indicators display module run status, Ethernet link and DH+/RIO network activity for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It complies with industrial shock and vibration standards and has obtained UL and CE certifications. It supports remote firmware upgrade and configuration file backup for long-term field maintenance.
This EtherNet/IP to DH+ and Remote I/O migration gateway is widely applied in phased upgrade of PLC-5 and SLC 500 systems, old Remote I/O rack reconstruction, HMI replacement and DH+ network expansion projects. It protects the investment of existing field I/O and wiring, and realizes smooth interconnection between modern EtherNet/IP control platform and legacy Rockwell protocol networks. As a reliable legacy migration spare part, the AN-X2-AB-DHRIO retains original field wiring and I/O devices and effectively reduces the renovation cost of old automation system integration.
