The ProSoft PLX82-EIP-61850 is a DIN-rail mounted dual-isolated Ethernet protocol gateway designed for bidirectional data exchange between Rockwell EtherNet/IP PAC systems and IEC 61850 intelligent electronic devices widely used in power substation automation. It operates as an IEC 61850 client to poll substation IEDs including protection relays, power quality monitors, circuit breakers and meter devices, while acting as an EtherNet/IP server for ControlLogix and CompactLogix controllers. The dual independent Ethernet ports separate the EtherNet/IP control subnet and IEC 61850 substation subnet, avoiding IP conflicts and improving network security without modifying existing device IP configuration. This gateway supports up to 20 IEC 61850 IED connections and can process up to 300 data attributes per IED, covering measured values, status signals, control points, alarm events and device diagnostic information. It supports GOOSE, MMS and SNTP time synchronization with millisecond timestamp accuracy, which is critical for sequence-of-event recording and power fault analysis. The gateway supports a maximum of 20 EtherNet/IP I/O connections, with 10000 bytes input and 9920 bytes output data capacity. A conformal coated version is optional for humid, dusty and corrosive substation environments. This gateway adopts rugged metal housing for standard DIN rail installation. It is equipped with two 10/100Mbps shielded RJ45 Ethernet ports with 1500Vrms isolation, accepts 10VDC to 36VDC wide-range DC power supply with 24VDC nominal input, maximum current 200mA at 24V. LED indicators display power status, module fault, configuration status and communication error for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is -25°C to 70°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing.
