The ProSoft PTQ-AFC is an in-chassis ProTalk flow computer module designed for Schneider Modicon Quantum PLC rack, dedicated to custody transfer and process flow calculation of hydrocarbon liquids and gases. It accepts pressure, temperature, density and pulse flow data transferred from Quantum analog and pulse counter I/O modules, and performs standardized flow correction calculations following AGA 3, AGA 7, AGA 8 and API 2540 industry standards. The module computes real-time flow rate, accumulated volume, accumulated mass and heating energy value, then sends these validated calculation results back to Quantum PLC registers for ladder logic processing or uploading to SCADA host systems. It is equipped with two independent Modbus serial ports, configurable as Modbus master or slave to connect with remote transmitters, meters and auxiliary devices. The AFC Manager configuration software is used for meter setup, parameter tuning, data monitoring, event logging and audit snapshot checking, which can record variable snapshots to verify calculation accuracy. It supports alarm triggers, event archives and audit trails to meet oil & gas metering traceability requirements. The module exchanges data asynchronously over the Quantum backplane, so flow computation and Modbus communication will not occupy the PLC scan cycle or disrupt the original control logic. This module has obtained measurement certification from Industry Canada, it is discontinued and only available as spare parts for legacy oil, gas and pipeline metering systems.

This module fits standard Schneider Quantum single slot, draws 800mA at 5VDC from backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for on-site replacement without shutting down the whole rack. LED indicators display power status, backplane communication, serial port TX/RX activity and fault alarms for fast field diagnosis. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, with relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It meets industrial EMC standards for surge, electrostatic and burst interference, and has Class I Division 2 hazardous location certification. It supports configuration backup and firmware upgrade for long-term site maintenance.
