The ProSoft PTQ-104C is an in-chassis ProTalk communication module designed for Schneider Modicon Quantum PLC rack, operating as an IEC 60870-5-104 client to connect with IEC 104 server devices in power automation systems. It is equipped with one 10/100Mbps Ethernet port for TCP/IP based IEC 104 communication and a dedicated RS232 debug port for configuration and online diagnostics. This module supports up to 4 independent IEC 104 server sessions, and it can communicate with protective relays, power meters, remote terminal units and substation IEDs. It supports standard IEC 104 ASDU data types including analog measurements, binary status, counter values, time-stamped SOE events and remote control commands, and adopts exception reporting mechanism to optimize network bandwidth. It fully supports Unity Hot-Standby redundant architecture for high-reliability power projects. Users can configure data points, station parameters and polling schedules via ProSoft Configuration Builder software, then map IEC 104 network data to Quantum register addresses over the backplane. It is compatible with Unity Pro, Concept, ProWORX and Modsoft programming software, and provides rich communication counters and fault status flags for troubleshooting. The module’s data exchange runs asynchronously with the PLC scan cycle, so network polling and event processing will not occupy controller scan time or affect the original control logic. This module is discontinued and only available as spare parts for legacy power SCADA and water utility automation systems.

This module fits standard Schneider Quantum single slot, draws 800mA at 5VDC from backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for on-site replacement without shutting down the whole rack. LED indicators display power status, backplane communication, Ethernet link status and fault alarms for fast field diagnosis. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, with relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It meets industrial EMC standards for surge, electrostatic and burst interference, and has Class I Division 2 hazardous location certification. It supports configuration backup and firmware upgrade for long-term site maintenance.
