The ProSoft PS69-DPS is a 1769 single-slot PROFIBUS DPV1 slave communication module designed for Rockwell CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 LRP platforms. It enables CompactLogix controllers to act as a PROFIBUS DP slave device and exchange data with PROFIBUS DP masters such as Siemens S7 PLCs and other PROFIBUS master controllers. It supports both DPV0 cyclic I/O data exchange and DPV1 acyclic messaging, which allows extended parameter access, alarm feedback and advanced diagnostic functions. The module is equipped with one galvanically isolated RS485 PROFIBUS port and a dedicated RS232 diagnostic port for configuration and on-site troubleshooting. The maximum cyclic data size is 244 bytes for input and 244 bytes for output, meeting the data exchange needs of most machine control and process automation applications. The PROFIBUS station address can be set directly via rotary switches on the module, and the official GSD file is provided for integration into PROFIBUS master configuration software. The module is identified as a standard I/O module on the CompactLogix backplane, users can complete data mapping through RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000, and use CIP message instructions to trigger DPV1 acyclic communication and read diagnostic status. The module runs independently of the controller scan cycle, so PROFIBUS data transmission will not occupy PLC scan time or interfere with the original control logic.
