The ProSoft PS69-DPM is a 1769 single-slot PROFIBUS DPV1 master communication module built for Rockwell CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 LRP platforms. It enables CompactLogix controllers to connect to PROFIBUS DP slave devices including variable frequency drives, remote I/O modules, encoders, transmitters and process instruments. It supports both DPV0 cyclic process data exchange and DPV1 acyclic messaging, covering slave parameter read-write, alarm feedback and diagnostic functions. The module comes with one galvanically isolated RS485 PROFIBUS port and a dedicated RS232 diagnostic port for configuration and troubleshooting. It can support up to 125 PROFIBUS slave nodes on the network, with a maximum baud rate of 12 Mbps. The cyclic input data reaches 408 bytes and cyclic output data reaches 480 bytes, which satisfies regular machine and process control data exchange requirements. Configuration is completed via PROSOFT.fdt FDT software with DTM files, and network parameters are stored in the module flash memory. The module appears as a standard I/O module on the CompactLogix backplane, users can use RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 for backplane data mapping, and CIP message instructions can be used to trigger DPV1 acyclic communication. The module runs independently from the controller scan cycle, so PROFIBUS bus scanning and data exchange will not occupy PLC scan time or affect the original control logic. This module is discontinued, and the recommended replacement model is ILX69-PBM.
