The ProSoft PLX51-HART-4I is a DIN-rail mounted HART input gateway designed to connect HART compatible field transmitters to mainstream industrial Ethernet networks including EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and DNP3. It integrates four independent HART input channels, supporting both 4-20mA analog process signal acquisition and HART digital data communication, which can read primary variable, secondary variables, device tag information, diagnostic status and calibration data from smart HART instruments. This module supports multidrop HART wiring mode, and each channel is internally loop powered for direct connection to two-wire HART transmitters such as pressure transmitters, level sensors, temperature transmitters and flow meters. The ADC resolution reaches 12 bit, with calibrated accuracy better than 0.15% at 25℃, and the input current range covers 0 to 22mA with built-in 34mA current limit protection to avoid damage caused by field short circuit.

On the Ethernet side, it supports up to 10 CIP connections for EtherNet/IP, 20 concurrent TCP connections for Modbus TCP, and works as DNP3 outstation for SCADA remote monitoring. The embedded EDS file can be imported directly into Studio 5000, mapping HART data to Logix controller tags conveniently without complicated programming. Users complete channel configuration, polling schedule and alarm setup via PLX50 Configuration Utility. The gateway runs independently of the PLC scan cycle, so HART data collection and protocol conversion will not occupy controller resources or interfere with the original control logic. It provides detailed diagnostic tags for channel status, signal value, communication timeout and device fault, which can be viewed on HMI or SCADA system for fast troubleshooting. A conformal coated version is optional for humid, dusty and corrosive industrial environments. This model is widely adopted in new construction and modernization projects of oil & gas, chemical, water treatment and power process industries.

This gateway adopts compact plastic housing for DIN rail installation. It is equipped with one 10/100Mbps auto-MDIX RJ45 Ethernet port and four terminal-block HART analog channels, accepts 10VDC to 28VDC power supply. LED indicators display power status, module fault, Ethernet link and four individual HART channel status for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 70°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It complies with IEC EMC standards and has obtained UL/cUL Class 1 Div 2 and CE hazardous location certifications. It supports remote configuration, online firmware upgrade and configuration backup for long-term field maintenance.
