The ProSoft PLX51-DF1-ENI is a DIN-rail mounted DF1 routing gateway, designed for bidirectional communication between legacy DF1 serial devices and modern EtherNet/IP control systems. It serves as a direct replacement for the discontinued Rockwell 1761-NET-ENI module, helping users connect classic Rockwell controllers including PLC-5, SLC 500 and MicroLogix to ControlLogix, CompactLogix and other Logix-series PACs. This gateway supports DF1 full duplex, DF1 half duplex and DF1 radio modem protocols, and the serial baud rate can be set from 1200 baud up to 115200 baud with adjustable parity and CRC/BCC error checking. It supports four operation modes: DF1 slave mode, scheduled mode, unscheduled mode and pass-through mode, adapting to different migration and communication requirements without large modifications to existing PLC logic. The gateway adopts direct-to-tag technology, which simplifies data mapping and reduces configuration workload. It can communicate with up to eight Logix controllers simultaneously and supports standard DF1 read/write commands, PLC program upload and download, cross-controller messaging and HMI upgrading for old automation systems. This gateway adopts rugged metal housing for DIN rail installation. It is equipped with one 10/100Mbps auto-MDIX RJ45 Ethernet port and one RS232 serial terminal port, accepts 10VDC to 36VDC wide-range DC power supply with 24VDC nominal input. LED indicators display power status, module fault, Ethernet link activity and DF1 serial communication status for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is -25°C to 70°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 80°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It complies with IEC industrial shock, vibration and EMC standards, and has obtained UL/cUL Class 1 Div 2, ATEX Zone 2 and CE certifications.
