The ProSoft PLX32-MBTCP-SIE is a standalone DIN-rail mounted protocol gateway equipped with two galvanically isolated Ethernet ports, designed for bidirectional data exchange between Modbus TCP field devices and Siemens S7 Ethernet controllers. The dual independent Ethernet ports separate Modbus TCP subnet and S7 control subnet, preventing IP conflict and enhancing network security without modifying existing device IP settings. It communicates with S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300 and S7-400 PLCs via S7 protocol, and acts as Modbus TCP client or server to connect power meters, flow transmitters, variable frequency drives and other Modbus TCP instruments. The gateway supports up to 16 S7 concurrent connections and multiple Modbus TCP sessions. Users can configure read and write commands for S7 data blocks, input areas, output areas, memory bits and markers. It supports standard Modbus function codes, flexible byte swapping and floating-point conversion to adapt to different data formats of third-party devices. All data mapping, polling intervals and exception handling rules are configured in ProSoft Configuration Builder software. An SD card slot is reserved to save configuration files, supporting fast recovery after hardware replacement to minimize on-site downtime. The gateway runs independently of the PLC scan cycle, so protocol conversion and data forwarding will not occupy controller resources or disrupt the original control logic. It provides complete diagnostic tags for connection status, message counters, timeout errors and fault flags, which can be monitored on HMI and SCADA systems for quick fault diagnosis. A conformal coated version is optional for dusty, humid and corrosive industrial environments. This gateway adopts rugged metal housing for DIN rail installation. It is equipped with two galvanically isolated 10/100Mbps shielded RJ45 Ethernet ports, accepts 10VDC to 36VDC wide-range DC power supply with 24VDC nominal input. LED indicators display power status, module fault, Ethernet link, Modbus TCP and S7 communication activity for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is -25°C to 70°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 80°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing.
