The ProSoft PLX32-EIP-MBTCP-UA is a standalone DIN-rail mounted multi-protocol gateway, designed for tri-directional data exchange among EtherNet/IP controllers, Modbus TCP field devices and OPC UA client systems. It is equipped with two galvanically isolated Ethernet ports to separate control network and IT network into independent subnets, which improves network security and avoids modifying existing IP settings of on-site equipment. It connects Rockwell ControlLogix, CompactLogix and other EtherNet/IP PACs, meanwhile communicating with Modbus TCP instruments, power meters, flow transmitters and variable frequency drives. The built-in OPC UA server supports up to 10 concurrent OPC UA sessions, so MES, SCADA, ERP and other upper software can directly read and write data from EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP networks through OPC UA interface.

The EtherNet/IP side supports 8 Class 1 I/O connections with 248 bytes input and 248 bytes output per connection, and the embedded EDS add-on profile can be imported directly into Studio 5000 or RSLogix 5000 to simplify commissioning work. The Modbus TCP driver supports 10 client connections and 5 server connections, with up to 160 configurable polling commands, supporting standard Modbus function codes and flexible byte swapping for floating-point data matching. Users can set polling interval, data change trigger and exception handling rules inside ProSoft Configuration Builder software. An SD card slot is reserved for saving configuration files, supporting fast restoration during hardware replacement to reduce production downtime. The gateway runs independently of the PLC scan cycle, so protocol conversion and data forwarding will not occupy controller resources or interfere with the original control logic. It provides complete diagnostic tags for connection status, message counters, timeout and fault codes, which can be monitored on HMI or OPC UA clients for rapid troubleshooting. A conformal coated version is optional for humid, dusty and corrosive industrial environments. This gateway adopts rugged metal housing for DIN rail installation. It has two galvanically isolated 10/100Mbps shielded RJ45 Ethernet ports, accepts 10VDC to 36VDC wide-range DC power supply with 24VDC nominal input. LED indicators display power status, module fault, EtherNet/IP link, Modbus TCP and OPC UA communication activity for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is -25°C to 70°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 80°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It complies with IEC industrial shock, vibration and EMC standards for surge and electrostatic interference, and has passed relevant industrial certifications. It supports remote configuration, online firmware upgrade and configuration backup for long-term field maintenance.
