The ProSoft PLX32-EIP-MBTCP is a standalone DIN-rail mounted dual-port protocol gateway for high-speed bidirectional data exchange between EtherNet/IP PAC systems and Modbus TCP devices. It features two independent isolated Ethernet ports, which separate the EtherNet/IP network and Modbus TCP network into different subnets, eliminating the need to adjust IP addresses of existing field devices and enhancing network segmentation and security. It works seamlessly with Rockwell ControlLogix, CompactLogix and other EtherNet/IP controllers, and connects Modbus TCP instruments, power monitors, flow transmitters, variable frequency drives and Modbus TCP PLCs. The gateway supports up to 10 Modbus TCP client connections and 5 Modbus TCP server connections, with a maximum of 160 configurable polling commands. Each polling task can be enabled or disabled individually, and it supports write-only-on-data-change mode to reduce unnecessary network traffic. It covers standard Modbus function codes and flexible floating-point byte swapping formats to match diverse third-party device data structures. The EtherNet/IP side supports multiple Class 1 I/O connections with 248 bytes input and 248 bytes output per connection, and the embedded EDS add-on profile can be imported directly into Studio 5000 or RSLogix 5000 to shorten commissioning time. An SD card slot is reserved for configuration backup and fast restoration when replacing hardware, minimizing production downtime. Users complete data mapping, polling schedule and fault alarm configuration via ProSoft Configuration Builder software. The gateway runs independently of the PLC scan cycle, so protocol conversion and data forwarding will not occupy controller resources or interfere with the original control logic. It provides detailed diagnostic tags for connection status, message counters, timeout and fault codes, which can be read by the host controller and displayed on HMI or SCADA for rapid troubleshooting. This gateway adopts rugged metal housing for DIN rail installation. It is equipped with two galvanically isolated 10/100Mbps shielded RJ45 Ethernet ports, accepts 10VDC to 36VDC wide-range DC power supply with 24VDC nominal input. LED indicators display power status, module fault, EtherNet/IP link and Modbus TCP communication activity for convenient on-site inspection.
