The ProSoft PLX31-MBTCP-MBS4 is a standalone DIN-rail mounted multi-channel protocol gateway designed for bidirectional data conversion between Modbus TCP network and Modbus serial RTU or ASCII devices. It features four independent, galvanically isolated serial ports, each of which can be individually set as Modbus master or slave, supporting software-selectable RS232, RS422 and RS485 interfaces. This 4-port design allows connection to up to 400 Modbus serial field devices, which greatly reduces the total quantity of gateways required for large distributed automation systems and simplifies on-site wiring layout. On the Ethernet side, it supports multiple Modbus TCP client and server connections, compatible with Modbus TCP controllers, SCADA hosts and HMI systems. It supports complete standard Modbus function codes including coil, discrete input, holding register and input register read-write operations, and provides configurable floating-point parsing compatible with Enron and Daniel formats to adapt to different third-party meters, transmitters and remote terminal units. It supports flexible polling configuration, users can set independent polling intervals, continuous polling or polling on data change for each command, and real-time error status and diagnostic codes are returned for each communication command. An SD card slot is built in for saving configuration files, so the configuration can be quickly restored to a replacement unit during maintenance to shorten system downtime. The ProSoft Discovery Service tool helps technicians locate the gateway and adjust IP parameters without the same subnet. All protocol conversion and data mapping tasks run independently, so the communication process will not occupy the controller scan cycle or interfere with the original control logic. Conformal coating version is optional for dusty, humid and corrosive harsh industrial environments.

This gateway supports wide-range DC power supply from 10VDC to 36VDC, rated current 300mA at 24VDC. It adopts standard DIN rail installation and is equipped with abundant LED indicators for power, fault, network status, module status and serial TX/RX activity for fast on-site troubleshooting. The operating temperature range is -25°C to 70°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 80°C, with relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It complies with IEC industrial shock and vibration standards and has reliable EMC protection against surge and electrostatic interference. It supports firmware upgrade and configuration backup for long-term on-site maintenance.
