The ProSoft PLX31-MBTCP-MBS is a compact DIN-rail mounted protocol gateway designed for bidirectional data transmission between Modbus TCP/IP network and Modbus serial RTU or ASCII devices. It supports Modbus master and slave roles on both Ethernet and serial sides, which can connect Modbus TCP controllers, SCADA hosts and HMI systems to serial field instruments including power meters, flow transmitters, temperature controllers and variable frequency drives. The serial port is software configurable for RS232, RS422 or RS485 interface, with adjustable baud rate ranging from 110 baud to 115.2 kbps, parity, data bits and stop bits to match different Modbus serial peripherals. It supports standard Modbus function codes and floating-point data formats including Enron and Daniel float structures, and users can set polling intervals, exception reporting and data mapping rules inside ProSoft Configuration Builder software. An SD card slot is reserved for saving configuration files, supporting one-click restoration during hardware replacement to reduce on-site downtime. The gateway runs independently from the host PLC scan cycle, so serial polling and protocol conversion will not consume controller resources or interfere with the original control logic. It provides comprehensive diagnostic tags for serial port status, message counters, timeout errors and connection faults, which can be viewed directly on SCADA or HMI for fast troubleshooting. Conformal coated version is optional for humid, dusty and corrosive industrial environments. This gateway adopts rugged metal housing for DIN rail installation. It is equipped with one isolated 10/100Mbps shielded RJ45 Ethernet port and one terminal block serial port, and accepts 10VDC to 36VDC wide-range power supply with 24VDC nominal input. LED indicators display power status, module fault, network communication and serial TX/RX activity for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is -25°C to 70°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 80°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It meets IEC industrial shock, vibration and EMC standards for surge and electrostatic interference, and has obtained relevant industrial certifications. It supports remote configuration, online firmware upgrade and configuration backup for long-term field maintenance.
