The ProSoft PLX31-EIP-SIE is a standalone DIN-rail mounted protocol gateway for bidirectional data exchange between EtherNet/IP and Siemens S7 protocol. It operates as an EtherNet/IP adapter with support for Class 1 implicit I/O connections and Class 3 explicit messages, enabling seamless communication between Rockwell ControlLogix, CompactLogix and Siemens S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300, S7-400 PLCs. The built-in EDS add-on profile can be imported directly into Studio 5000 for straightforward configuration, which saves commissioning time and eliminates complex custom PLC programming. It supports S7 read and write operations to DB blocks, input areas, output areas, memory bits and timers, and supports flexible data mapping for different data types. It supports up to multiple S7 server connections, and users can configure independent polling intervals for each connection to optimize data refresh speed. An SD card slot is available for storing configuration files, which allows fast configuration restoration when replacing the gateway on site and reduces system downtime. The ProSoft Discovery Service tool helps engineers find the gateway and adjust IP settings easily even when the PC is not on the same subnet. All protocol conversion and data mapping run independently, so the data exchange process will not consume controller scan time or affect the original control logic. Conformal coating version is optional for dusty, humid and corrosive industrial environments.

This gateway accepts wide DC power supply ranging from 10VDC to 36VDC, rated current 300mA at 24VDC. It uses standard DIN rail mounting and comes with multiple LED indicators for power, fault, EtherNet/IP status and S7 communication activity to support quick on-site diagnosis. The operating temperature range is -25°C to 70°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 80°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing.
