The ProSoft PLX31-EIP-MBTCP is a standalone DIN-rail mounted protocol gateway that provides high-speed bidirectional data conversion between EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP networks. It works as an EtherNet/IP adapter supporting Class 1 implicit I/O connections and Class 3 explicit messaging, which allows seamless connection between Rockwell ControlLogix, CompactLogix and other EtherNet/IP controllers and Modbus TCP devices such as power meters, remote RTUs, flow computers and third-party PLCs. The gateway has embedded EDS add-on profile, users can directly import it into Studio 5000 for configuration, which greatly reduces commissioning workload and avoids complicated custom programming on the PLC side. It supports multiple Modbus TCP client and server connections, up to 10 client connections and 5 server connections, and supports up to 160 configurable client commands. It covers standard Modbus function codes for reading and writing coils, discrete inputs, holding registers and input registers, and supports configurable floating-point byte order parsing for Enron and Daniel formats to match different Modbus TCP devices. It supports data prioritization function, users can set independent RPI for control and status data to optimize Ethernet bandwidth usage. An SD card slot is reserved for storing configuration files, and configuration can be quickly restored to a replacement gateway during field maintenance to shorten system downtime. The ProSoft Discovery Service tool helps technicians locate the gateway and modify IP address conveniently even without the same subnet. The protocol conversion and data mapping tasks run independently, so the data exchange process will not occupy the controller scan cycle or interfere with the original control logic. Conformal coating version is optional for dusty, humid and corrosive industrial environments.

This gateway supports wide-range DC power supply from 10VDC to 36VDC, rated current 300mA at 24VDC. It adopts standard DIN rail installation and is equipped with multiple LED indicators including power, error, network status, module status and Ethernet link activity for fast on-site troubleshooting. The operating temperature range is -25°C to 70°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 80°C, with relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It complies with IEC industrial shock and vibration standards and has reliable EMC protection against surge and electrostatic interference.
