The ProSoft MVI69L-MBS is a cost-effective single-slot Modbus serial lite communication module designed for Rockwell 1769 CompactLogix chassis, optimized for small-scale OEM and compact automation projects that only need to connect a small quantity of Modbus serial field devices. It is equipped with one isolated application serial port, supporting software-selectable RS232, RS422 and RS485 interfaces, with 500V optical isolation between serial circuit and backplane to suppress interference. The serial communication parameters can be flexibly configured, baud rate ranges from 110 baud to 115200 baud, and users can set parity, data bits, stop bits and RTS delay time according to connected instruments. This module supports both Modbus RTU with CRC-16 checksum and Modbus ASCII with LRC checksum, and it covers all common Modbus function codes for coil, discrete input, holding register and input register read-write operations. It also supports configurable floating-point parsing, compatible with Enron and Daniel floating-point formats to solve byte order conversion problems of different Modbus transmitters and meters. The maximum I/O data capacity is 240 input words and 240 output words, which fully meets the data acquisition and control demand of simple Modbus networks. It comes with a separate 10/100Mbps auto-negotiation Ethernet debug port for configuration download, online communication monitoring and fault log checking. The module exchanges data with CompactLogix processor asynchronously over the 1769 backplane, so Modbus polling and message response will not occupy the PLC scan cycle and affect the real-time control logic. Official add-on profile and add-on instruction are provided for Studio 5000, which automatically generates UDT tags and diagnostic information, greatly shortening on-site commissioning time. The module configuration can be saved together with the CompactLogix ACD project file for convenient backup and recovery. Conformal coating version is optional for humid, dusty and corrosive industrial environments. This module is suitable for CompactLogix processors with 1769 bus firmware version 16 and above, and MicroLogix 1500 is not supported.

It supports configuration file backup and firmware upgrade for routine maintenance.
