The ProSoft MVI69E-MBTCP is an enhanced single-slot Modbus TCP/IP communication module developed for Rockwell 1769 CompactLogix chassis, it is designed to realize stable Modbus TCP network communication between CompactLogix controllers and Modbus TCP compatible field devices, meters, remote PLCs and SCADA hosts. It integrates one 10/100Mbps auto-negotiating RJ45 Ethernet port which handles both Modbus TCP application data transmission and online diagnostic access. The module can operate as Modbus TCP client and server simultaneously, supporting up to 20 client connections and 20 server connections at the same time, which is enough for multi-node Modbus TCP networking on site. The built-in local database supports up to 10000 words of data storage and flexible tag mapping, and it supports configurable floating-point parsing for Enron and Daniel floating-point formats to solve byte order conversion issues for different Modbus devices. It covers mainstream Modbus function codes including read coils, read discrete inputs, read holding registers, read input registers, single and multiple write commands, mask write and read-write combined commands. The module works as an independent co-processor, exchanging data with the CompactLogix processor asynchronously over the 1769 backplane, so Modbus polling and message response processing will not occupy the PLC scan cycle and interfere with the real-time control logic. It is equipped with official add-on profile and add-on instruction for Studio 5000, which automatically generates UDT tags, fault status and diagnostic information, greatly shortening commissioning and troubleshooting time. The module configuration can be saved directly inside the CompactLogix ACD project file for convenient backup and project recovery. Conformal coating version is optional for humid, dusty and corrosive industrial environments. This module supports CompactLogix processors with 1769 bus firmware version 16 and above, and MicroLogix 1500 is not supported.

This module fits standard 1769 single-slot rack and consumes 500mA at 5VDC from the backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for on-site replacement without shutting down the whole automation rack. Multiple LED indicators display module power status, backplane communication health, Ethernet link status and application running state for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, with 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity tolerance. It meets industrial shock and vibration standards and adopts reliable EMC protection against surge and electrostatic interference. It supports configuration file backup and firmware upgrade for routine maintenance.
