The ProSoft MVI69-PDPMV1 is a single-slot PROFIBUS DPV1 master communication module designed for Rockwell 1769 CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 LRP chassis, fully compliant with IEC 61158 PROFIBUS DP standard. It serves as a high-performance master interface to connect CompactLogix controllers to PROFIBUS DP slave devices including drives, remote I/O modules, encoders, flow transmitters and other process automation instruments. It supports both DPV0 cyclic process data exchange and DPV1 acyclic parameter access via Class 1 and Class 2 services, enabling users to read device parameters, upload diagnostic information and execute remote parameterization on PROFIBUS slave nodes. The PROFIBUS port is an optically isolated RS485 interface with DB9 female connector, offering reliable protection against electrical interference on the field bus. It supports up to 768 words of cyclic I/O data, which provides large data capacity for complex PROFIBUS networks. This module comes with a personality module for storing network scan list and configuration, allowing fast on-site replacement without reconfiguring the whole network. A dedicated RS232 configuration port is used for downloading network configuration, online diagnosis and communication troubleshooting. The module exchanges data with the CompactLogix processor asynchronously over the 1769 backplane, so PROFIBUS bus scanning and acyclic message processing will not occupy the PLC scan cycle and disturb the real-time control logic. Add-on profile and sample ladder logic are provided for RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000, and ProSoft Configuration Builder software is used to set slave address list, baud rate, data mapping and DPV1 message rules. This module is discontinued, and the replacement model is PS69-DPM.

This module fits standard 1769 racks and consumes 800mA at 5VDC from the backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for on-site replacement without shutting down the whole automation rack. LED indicators display module power status, backplane communication health, PROFIBUS token status, bus activity and fault alarms for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, with 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity tolerance. It meets industrial shock and vibration specifications and adopts reliable EMC protection against surge and electrostatic interference. It supports configuration file backup and firmware upgrade for routine maintenance.

This PROFIBUS DPV1 master module is widely used in packaging machinery, production line control, petrochemical, water treatment, power plant and factory automation renovation projects. It brings native PROFIBUS DP master capability inside the CompactLogix rack without external PROFIBUS gateways, realizing seamless data exchange between Rockwell controllers and European PROFIBUS field devices. As a discontinued legacy communication module, the MVI69-PDPMV1 is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable cyclic and acyclic PROFIBUS data transmission, preserves the original field devices and bus wiring, and reduces the renovation cost of PROFIBUS network integration.
