The ProSoft MVI69-FLN is a single-slot FL-net communication module for Rockwell 1769 CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 LRP chassis, implementing FL-net Version 2.00 OPCN-2 standard defined by JEMA for Japanese FA control networks. FL-net is a masterless peer-to-peer industrial Ethernet network widely used by Mitsubishi, Omron, Yokogawa and other Japanese automation controllers. The module works as a dedicated protocol gateway to exchange cyclic data between CompactLogix and all FL-net peer nodes on the same network. It uses two fixed shared memory areas, Area 1 and Area 2, for cyclic data publishing and subscribing, supporting real-time status, analog measurement, control command and network diagnostic data transmission. It is equipped with one 10/100Mbps RJ45 Ethernet port for FL-net communication, plus a separate RS232 configuration port for parameter download, online monitoring and fault diagnosis. The module maintains a local internal database to mirror Area 1 and Area 2 data, and exchanges data with the CompactLogix processor asynchronously over the 1769 backplane. This asynchronous transfer ensures FL-net cyclic refresh and peer communication will not occupy the PLC scan cycle and disturb the real-time control logic. Users can configure node address, data mapping and network timeout settings through configuration files, and add-on profile and sample ladder logic are available for RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000.

This module fits standard 1769 racks and draws power directly from the backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for on-site replacement without shutting down the whole automation rack. LED indicators display module power status, backplane communication health, Ethernet link activity and application fault alarms for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, with 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity tolerance. It meets industrial shock and vibration specifications, and adopts reliable EMC protection against surge and electrostatic interference for factory automation and machine control environments. It supports configuration file backup and firmware upgrade for routine maintenance.

This FL-net FA control network module is widely used in production line renovation, machine tool control, packaging equipment and mixed-brand automation projects that integrate Rockwell CompactLogix with Japanese FL-net PLC systems. It brings native FL-net connectivity inside the CompactLogix rack without external standalone protocol converters, simplifying the interconnection of Asian and American control platforms.
