Product Details
The ProSoft MVI69-EGD is a single-slot GE Ethernet Global Data communication module designed for Rockwell 1769 CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 LRP chassis. It serves as a high-speed UDP-based gateway for EGD protocol, which is widely adopted by GE Fanuc PLCs and related control devices for periodic data sharing and time-synchronized control exchange. The module supports both producer and consumer EGD functions, working on UDP ports 18246 for producer/consumer service and 7937 for command service, and it supports unicast, broadcast and multicast message transmission modes to fit different network topologies. It is equipped with one 10/100Mbps auto-sensing RJ45 Ethernet port for EGD network communication, and a dedicated RS232 configuration port for local configuration download, online status monitoring and fault diagnosis. Users can define produced and consumed data blocks in the configuration file, mapping analog values, digital status and register data between GE EGD nodes and the local internal database. The module exchanges data with the CompactLogix processor asynchronously over the 1769 backplane, so the cyclic EGD data publishing and subscribing will not occupy the PLC scan cycle and interfere with real-time control logic. It supports standard EGD commands including read, write, masked write, configuration retrieval and statistics query, and it can detect communication failures and report abnormal status timely. Add-on profile and sample ladder logic are available for RSLogix 5000, and ProSoft Configuration Builder is used to edit EGD peer lists, data block layout and network timeout parameters.
This module fits standard 1769 racks and consumes 800mA at 5VDC from the backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for on-site replacement without shutting down the whole automation rack. LED indicators display module power status, backplane communication health, Ethernet link activity and application fault alarms for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, with 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity tolerance. It meets industrial shock and vibration specifications, and adopts reliable EMC protection against surge and electrostatic interference for factory automation and process control environments. It supports configuration file backup and firmware upgrade for routine maintenance.
This GE EGD Ethernet module is widely used in mixed-brand automation renovation, power plant control, water treatment and manufacturing projects where CompactLogix systems need to communicate with legacy GE Fanuc PLCs over Ethernet. It realizes native EGD protocol conversion inside the CompactLogix rack without external third-party gateways, simplifying the cross-brand control network structure. As a discontinued legacy communication module, the MVI69-EGD is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable EGD UDP data transmission, preserves the original GE PLC and Ethernet field wiring, and reduces the renovation cost of GE and Rockwell mixed control system integration.
