The ProSoft MVI69-DFNT is a single-slot EtherNet/IP communication module designed for Rockwell 1769 CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 LRP chassis. It is also known as DF1 over Ethernet module, focused on EtherNet/IP explicit messaging to realize data exchange between CompactLogix and remote EtherNet/IP compatible controllers, HMIs and automation hosts. It supports both client and server functions at the same time. As an EtherNet/IP client, it can execute up to 100 configurable read and write commands to access remote nodes. As a server, it provides 20 independent server connections to accept explicit messaging requests from external master devices on the Ethernet network. It is equipped with one 10/100Mbps auto-crossover RJ45 Ethernet port for dedicated EtherNet/IP communication, and a separate RS232 configuration port for local parameter download, online diagnosis and fault debugging. The module maintains a local user-defined register database for data buffering and mapping between the EtherNet/IP network and CompactLogix controller tags. The data exchange between the module and the CompactLogix processor runs asynchronously over the 1769 backplane, so the EtherNet/IP message transmission and response processing will not occupy the PLC scan cycle and interfere with the real-time control logic. Conformal coating option is available for corrosive and harsh industrial environments. Add-on profile and sample ladder logic are supplied for RSLogix 5000, and ProSoft Configuration Builder software is used to set connection commands, timeout values and data mapping tables.

This module fits standard 1769 racks and draws power directly from the backplane with 800mA current consumption at 5V. It supports hot-swappable operation for on-site replacement without shutting down the whole automation rack. LED indicators display module power status, backplane communication health, Ethernet link activity and application fault alarms for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C. It meets industrial shock and vibration specifications, and adopts EMC protection against surge and electrostatic interference for factory automation and process control environments. It supports configuration file backup and firmware upgrade for routine maintenance.

This EtherNet/IP client/server module is widely used in mixed-brand factory networking, production line data exchange, remote HMI monitoring and automation system upgrade projects. It enables CompactLogix to communicate with other EtherNet/IP devices without extra external protocol converters, simplifying multi-controller network architecture. As a discontinued legacy module, the MVI69-DFNT is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable EtherNet/IP explicit messaging transmission, preserves the original network devices and Ethernet wiring, and reduces the renovation cost of cross-brand industrial ethernet integration.
