Product Details
The ProSoft MVI69-ADMNET is a programmable Ethernet application development module designed for Rockwell 1769 CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 LRP chassis. It is the network variant of the MVI69-ADM, built for engineers to develop custom TCP/IP and UDP communication programs for proprietary or non-standard Ethernet protocols that cannot be handled by standard off-the-shelf protocol modules. It integrates one 10/100Mbps auto-sensing RJ45 Ethernet port for user-defined network communication, alongside a dedicated RS232 debug and configuration port for firmware download, runtime monitoring and error diagnosis. Developers can write C language applications to implement custom socket logic, message framing, checksum rules and data parsing on the module’s local processor. The module maintains a local register database to buffer network data, and exchanges data with the CompactLogix controller asynchronously over the 1769 backplane. This asynchronous transfer ensures that custom Ethernet communication tasks will not occupy the PLC scan cycle and interfere with the core real-time control logic. It supports flexible socket configuration, allowing simultaneous client and server socket operation according to custom program requirements. The official development kit, add-on profile and sample ladder logic are provided for RSLogix 5000, and developers can compile, test and deploy custom firmware using the dedicated ProSoft development toolchain. This legacy module can be replaced by MVI69E-LDM for upgraded projects.
This module fits standard single-slot 1769 racks and draws power directly from the backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for on-site replacement without shutting down the whole automation rack. LED indicators display module power status, backplane communication health, Ethernet link activity and application runtime faults for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C. It meets industrial shock and vibration specifications, and adopts EMC protection against surge and electrostatic interference for factory and process automation environments. It supports custom firmware backup and upgrade for function adjustment and maintenance.
This programmable Ethernet development module is widely used in factory automation renovation, special Ethernet instrument data acquisition, legacy network equipment upgrade and custom TCP/UDP protocol conversion projects. It enables CompactLogix systems to connect with unique Ethernet devices without adding external third-party network gateways, which is suitable for special communication scenarios that standard protocol modules cannot cover. As a discontinued legacy module, the MVI69-ADMNET is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable execution of custom Ethernet programs, preserves the original field devices and network wiring, and reduces the renovation cost of special Ethernet protocol integration.
