Product Details
The ProSoft MVI56-MNETC is a single-slot multi-client Modbus TCP/IP communication module designed for Rockwell 1756 ControlLogix chassis. It is the original non-enhanced version of MVI56E-MNETC, built for high-density Modbus TCP networking scenarios that require connecting a large quantity of Modbus TCP server devices simultaneously. This module supports Modbus TCP client and server functions running at the same time, it can establish up to 30 independent client connections to collect analog measurements, digital status, counter values and alarm signals from Modbus TCP transmitters, meters and remote controllers, and it can also act as a server to accept connection requests from SCADA and HMI master hosts. The internal user-configurable database supports up to 10000 16-bit registers for sufficient data mapping between Modbus network and ControlLogix tags, which makes it suitable for large-scale industrial data concentration tasks. It is equipped with one 10/100Mbps auto-crossover RJ45 Ethernet port for Modbus communication and module configuration. The data exchange between the module and ControlLogix processor runs asynchronously over the backplane, so Modbus polling and data response processing will not occupy controller scan time and interfere with real-time control logic. This module can be upgraded and replaced by the enhanced MVI56E-MNETC model. Add-on instructions and sample ladder logic are provided for RSLogix 5000, and ProSoft Configuration Builder software is used to edit connection lists, command schedules and register mapping tables.
This module can be installed in local or remote 1756 ControlLogix chassis and draws 800mA at 5VDC from the backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for on-site replacement without shutting down the whole rack. Front LED indicators display module health, network link activity and fault alarms for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C, with industrial EMC protection against surge and electrostatic interference, and meets shock and vibration standards for general industrial automation sites. It supports configuration backup and firmware upgrade for routine maintenance.
This classic multi-client Modbus TCP module is widely used in petrochemical, water treatment, power distribution SCADA, energy management and factory multi-device networking projects. It brings native high-capacity Modbus TCP connectivity to ControlLogix without extra standalone protocol gateways, and performs well when communicating with many Modbus TCP servers at the same time. As a discontinued legacy communication module, the MVI56-MNETC is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable bidirectional Modbus TCP/IP data transmission, preserves the original field instruments and network wiring, and reduces the transformation cost of large-scale heterogeneous Ethernet device integration.
