The ProSoft MVI56-LTQ is a single-slot in-chassis master communication module designed for Rockwell 1756 ControlLogix rack, dedicated to connecting ControlLogix controllers with Limitorque electric valve actuators and compatible valve devices. It acts as a Limitorque protocol master, adopting dual serial ports to simulate Port A and Port B polling mechanism of Limitorque valve network, and supports up to 150 valve actuators on the bus. This module can collect real-time valve position, running status, fault codes, digital input and output signals from actuators, and execute remote control commands including valve open, close, stop, ESD emergency shutdown and reset issued by the ControlLogix processor. It supports mainstream Limitorque actuator models such as MX/DDC, UEC-3-DDC, DDC-100M and Valvcon IVO for multi-drop serial networking. The module provides 1500-word internal register space for valve data caching and tag mapping, and the data exchange between module and ControlLogix processor runs asynchronously over the backplane, so valve polling and control command processing will not interfere with the main PLC scan cycle and real-time safety logic. The serial baud rate is adjustable from 1200 baud to 115200 baud, and users can configure communication timeout, slave table, polling sequence and data retention state when communication fails through configuration software. Add-on instructions and sample ladder logic are provided for RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000, helping engineers quickly integrate valve status and control logic into the automation program.

This module can be installed in local or remote 1756 ControlLogix chassis and draws 800mA at 5VDC from the backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for on-site replacement without shutting down the whole rack. Front LED indicators display backplane transfer status, serial communication activity and module fault alarms for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. It adopts industrial EMC protection design against surge and electrostatic interference, and meets shock and vibration standards for oil and gas, pipeline and process automation sites. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C, and it supports configuration file backup and firmware upgrade for routine maintenance.

This Limitorque valve actuator master module is widely used in oil and gas pipelines, refineries, water treatment plants and process industry valve control systems. It realizes direct data interaction between ControlLogix PAC and Limitorque valve actuators without extra independent protocol converters, which simplifies the valve control network structure and centralizes valve monitoring and emergency shutdown management. As a discontinued legacy communication module, the MVI56-LTQ is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable Limitorque serial communication and reliable valve control, preserves the original valve actuators and field wiring, and reduces the renovation risk and cost of valve control systems.
