The ProSoft ILX69-PBM is a single-slot 1769 form factor PROFIBUS DPV1 master communication module built for Rockwell CompactLogix and MicroLogix controller racks. It enables CompactLogix PLCs to connect and control PROFIBUS DP slave devices including variable frequency drives, remote I/O modules, flow transmitters, pressure sensors and other intelligent field instruments. This module complies with IEC 61158 PROFIBUS standard, supporting both cyclic DPV0 process data exchange and acyclic DPV1 messaging for parameter setting, device diagnosis and alarm reading. It features a PROFIBUS RS485 interface with maximum baud rate up to 12 Mbps, plus an independent 10/100Mbps RJ45 Ethernet port for FDT configuration, web-based diagnosis and ComDTM asset management access. It comes with auto-scan function to automatically detect PROFIBUS slave nodes on the bus, and add-on instructions for seamless integration inside Studio 5000 or RSLogix 5000, which greatly reduces manual configuration work and commissioning risk. It also supports optional SD card storage for configuration backup and quick restoration.

This module fits directly into standard 1769 CompactLogix chassis and draws 570mA at 5VDC from the backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for convenient maintenance without shutting down the whole rack. Front panel LED indicators show backplane status, PROFIBUS bus activity, Ethernet link status and module fault status for fast on-site troubleshooting. Users can complete GSD file import, slave station list setup, data mapping and bus parameter configuration via ProSoft FDT Configuration Manager software. It provides rich diagnostic data such as bus error counters, slave offline alarms and real-time process values. The module passes strict industrial EMC tests including ESD, surge and burst immunity, with an operating temperature range from 0°C to 60°C, suitable for factory automation and process control environments. It can handle mono-master and multi-master PROFIBUS network layouts.

This in-chassis fieldbus master module is widely used in packaging lines, material handling systems, water treatment plants, oil and gas auxiliary control and industrial automation upgrade projects. It adds native PROFIBUS master capability to CompactLogix without extra standalone gateway hardware, simplifying cabinet wiring and control architecture. As a discontinued legacy communication module, the ILX69-PBM is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable cyclic and acyclic PROFIBUS communication, preserves the original fieldbus devices and wiring, and lowers the cost of system transformation.
