The ProSoft CLX-PVX is an in-chassis communication module designed for Rockwell ControlLogix rack, enabling bidirectional data exchange between ControlLogix PACs and legacy Fisher PROVOX control I/O bus. It serves as a dedicated PROVOX bus scanner, supporting two operating modes selected by firmware download: master mode and monitor mode. In master mode, the module reads analog and discrete input signals from PROVOX I/O cards and transmits output commands from ControlLogix to the PROVOX bus. In monitor mode, it passively captures bus data without sending commands, which is safe for pre-upgrade testing and logic verification on live running systems. It is equipped with primary and secondary BNC connectors for redundant PROVOX bus connection, supports up to 64 I/O cards on one bus, and works with 10-series and 20-series PROVOX I/O files. It can automatically generate RSLogix 5000 tag files and scan lists to reduce manual configuration workload. A 4-character scrolling LCD screen and LED indicators display backplane status, bus link status and module fault alarms for convenient on-site inspection.

This module is installed directly inside the standard ControlLogix 1756 chassis and draws power from the backplane. It supports hot-swappable operation for maintenance without shutting down the whole rack. All configuration, data mapping, bus redundancy setup and diagnostic functions are completed in RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 with the matching add-on profile. It provides detailed diagnostic information including bus error statistics, individual I/O card fault reporting and real-time data viewing. It is built for process industry environments with reliable EMC protection, with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C for stable continuous long-term operation.

This migration module is widely used in petrochemical, refining and power plant DCS upgrade projects for Fisher PROVOX systems. It supports phased migration strategy, allowing users to replace old PROVOX controllers with ControlLogix or PlantPAx while retaining the existing PROVOX I/O hardware and field wiring. As a discontinued legacy module, the CLX-PVX is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running DCS systems. It maintains stable cyclic I/O data transmission on the redundant PROVOX bus, preserves the original field control infrastructure and effectively cuts renovation downtime and engineering cost.
