Product Details
The ProSoft 5210-DFNT-RIO is a standalone ProLinx protocol gateway designed for legacy Rockwell automation system integration, supporting bidirectional data conversion between EtherNet/IP and Allen‑Bradley Remote I/O (RIO) protocol. It serves as a communication bridge that connects modern EtherNet/IP controllers to traditional Remote I/O racks, adapters and field devices which originally communicate over the RIO network. It is equipped with one 10/100Base-TX Ethernet port for EtherNet/IP communication and a dedicated RIO interface, supporting common RIO baud rates and flexible rack addressing configuration. It can exchange discrete input, discrete output, analog register data and status information between EtherNet/IP tag database and RIO adapter stations.
This gateway adopts DIN rail mounting for installation inside control cabinets. It is powered by 24 VDC industrial power supply and fitted with front-panel LED indicators for power, Ethernet link, RIO communication activity and fault status, which helps technicians quickly locate communication faults during commissioning and maintenance. Users can configure rack number, data mapping, polling parameters and diagnostic functions via ProSoft Configuration Builder software. It provides comprehensive diagnostic functions including link status monitoring, frame error statistics and real-time data inspection. It has reliable EMC performance to resist industrial electromagnetic interference, with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C for stable continuous long-term operation.
This protocol gateway is widely used in factory automation renovation, production line upgrade, legacy RIO system interconnection, material handling equipment reconstruction and spare replacement projects. It allows new EtherNet/IP PLC and HMI systems to communicate with existing Remote I/O racks without removing the original RIO hardware or overhauling the whole control system. As a discontinued legacy communication gateway, the 5210-DFNT-RIO is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable cross-protocol data transmission, preserves the original control logic and greatly reduces the renovation cost of the whole automation platform.
