The ProSoft 5205-104S-PDPS is a standalone ProLinx protocol gateway developed for power and process automation, supporting bidirectional data conversion between IEC 60870-5-104 Server and PROFIBUS DP-V0 Slave protocols. It serves as a communication bridge that connects PROFIBUS DP master controllers to IEC 104 SCADA client systems. The gateway is equipped with one 10/100Base-TX Ethernet port for IEC 104 server communication and a 9-pin D-SUB PROFIBUS DP slave port. It supports IEC 104 Edition 2 data types and spontaneous event reporting, and can transmit telemetry, binary status, counter data and alarm events to upper SCADA hosts. It comes with a standard GSD file for easy integration into PROFIBUS master configuration software, and the internal database holds up to 4000 words for cross-protocol data mapping.

This gateway adopts DIN rail mounting for installation inside control cabinets. It accepts wide-range 18 VDC to 32 VDC industrial power supply and is equipped with front LED indicators for power, Ethernet activity, PROFIBUS communication and fault status, which helps technicians quickly locate communication faults during commissioning and maintenance. All data mapping, polling parameters, event buffer settings and diagnostic functions are configured via ProSoft Configuration Builder software. It supports redundant TCP connections for IEC 104 and comprehensive link diagnosis, frame error statistics and real-time data monitoring. It has robust EMC performance to resist electromagnetic interference in power substations, with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C for stable continuous long-term operation.

This protocol gateway is widely used in power substation automation, energy management, water treatment SCADA, oil and gas remote monitoring, and legacy power control system renovation projects. It allows PROFIBUS DP master PLCs to exchange data with IEC 104-based telecontrol systems without modifying the core control logic or replacing field equipment.
