The ProSoft 5202-DFNT-DFCM4 is a standalone ProLinx multi-port protocol gateway for legacy Rockwell automation system integration, delivering bidirectional data conversion between EtherNet/IP and DF1 protocol. It serves as a communication bridge connecting modern EtherNet/IP controllers to multiple Allen‑Bradley DF1 serial devices such as SLC 500, PLC-5 and MicroLogix PLCs. This gateway is equipped with one 10/100Base-TX Ethernet port for EtherNet/IP communication and four independent configurable serial ports, each port can be set as DF1 master or slave mode separately. It supports standard DF1 full-duplex and half-duplex communication, flexible register mapping, and allows users to collect tag data, bit status and numeric values from multiple DF1 nodes simultaneously.

This gateway adopts standard DIN rail mounting for installation inside control cabinets. It is powered by 24 VDC industrial power supply and fitted with front-panel LED indicators for power, Ethernet link, serial transmit, receive and fault status, which helps technicians quickly locate communication faults during commissioning and maintenance. All data mapping, baud rate, node address, polling schedule and diagnostic parameters are configured via ProSoft Configuration Builder software. It supports comprehensive link diagnosis, frame error statistics and real-time data monitoring for each serial channel. It has reliable EMC performance to resist industrial electromagnetic interference, with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C for stable continuous long-term operation.

This multi-channel protocol gateway is widely used in factory automation retrofitting, production line upgrade, multi-node legacy PLC interconnection, material handling equipment reconstruction and spare replacement projects. It enables a single EtherNet/IP host to communicate with up to four separate DF1 serial PLCs without adding extra gateway hardware. As a discontinued legacy communication gateway, the 5202-DFNT-DFCM4 is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable cross-protocol data transmission, preserves the original control logic and greatly reduces the renovation cost of the whole automation platform.
