The ProSoft 5201-DFNT-DNPS is a standalone ProLinx protocol gateway designed for power and industrial automation, implementing bidirectional data conversion between EtherNet/IP and DNP3 Slave (Outstation) protocols. It acts as a communication bridge, allowing Rockwell EtherNet/IP controllers to feed measurement values, binary status signals, counter data and alarm events into a DNP3 SCADA master host. The gateway is equipped with one 10/100Base-TX Ethernet port, which runs both EtherNet/IP explicit messaging and DNP3 slave services on the same network interface. It follows DNP3 Level 2 standard, supports unsolicited event reporting and flexible data mapping for analog, binary and counter objects.

This gateway supports DIN rail mounting inside control cabinets. It operates on 24 VDC industrial power supply and is equipped with front LED indicators for power, network activity, transmit, receive and fault alarm status, which greatly simplifies on-site commissioning and fault troubleshooting. Users can define data mapping tables, polling parameters, timeout settings and communication diagnostics via ProSoft Configuration Builder software. It provides complete link monitoring, frame error statistics and real-time data view functions. It has excellent EMC protection performance to adapt to harsh electromagnetic interference environments in power substations, and the operating temperature range is 0°C to 55°C for stable long-term continuous operation.

This protocol gateway is widely used in power substation automation, energy management systems, water treatment SCADA, oil and gas remote monitoring, and legacy power automation system renovation projects. It enables Logix EtherNet/IP PLC data to be accessed by standard DNP3 master SCADA systems without modifying the core control logic or replacing field instruments. As a discontinued legacy communication gateway, the 5201-DFNT-DNPS is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for existing running automation systems. It maintains stable cross-protocol data transmission, retains the original control architecture and reduces the investment cost of system reconstruction.
