The ProSoft 5201-DFNT-DNPM is a standalone ProLinx protocol gateway tailored for power and industrial automation, delivering bidirectional data conversion between EtherNet/IP and DNP3 Master protocols. It acts as a communication bridge that allows Rockwell EtherNet/IP controllers to collect telemetry data, binary status, counter values and alarm events from DNP3 slave IEDs, meters and substation field devices, and send control commands to these remote endpoints. This unit comes with one 10/100Base-TX Ethernet port, supporting both EtherNet/IP and DNP3 communication over Ethernet. It supports standard DNP3 level 2 implementation, spontaneous event reporting and flexible point mapping for analog, binary and counter data objects.

This gateway adopts standard DIN rail mounting for installation inside control cabinets. It is powered by 24 VDC industrial power supply and fitted with front-panel LED indicators for power, network activity, transmit, receive and fault status, which helps technicians quickly locate communication faults during commissioning and maintenance. Users can configure point mapping, polling schedule, timeout parameters and diagnostic functions via ProSoft Configuration Builder software. It supports comprehensive link diagnosis, frame error statistics and real-time data monitoring. It features strong EMC performance to cope with heavy electromagnetic interference in power substations, with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C for stable long-term continuous operation.

This protocol gateway is widely used in power substation automation, energy management, water treatment SCADA, oil and gas monitoring, and legacy power system upgrade projects. It enables Rockwell Logix controllers to directly communicate with DNP3 substation devices without rewriting PLC logic or replacing existing field IEDs. As a discontinued legacy communication gateway, the 5201-DFNT-DNPM is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable cross-protocol data transmission, preserves the original control architecture and reduces the overall investment of system reconstruction.
