Product Details

The ProSoft 5201-DFNT-DH485 is a standalone ProLinx protocol gateway built for legacy Rockwell automation system integration. It provides bidirectional data conversion between EtherNet/IP and DH485 serial protocol, serving as a communication bridge to connect modern EtherNet/IP controllers with older Allen‑Bradley SLC 500 and PLC-5 devices over DH485 serial network. It is equipped with a 10/100Base-TX Ethernet port for EtherNet/IP communication and an RS-485 serial port dedicated to DH485 bus connection. The gateway supports standard DH485 read and write commands, and users can map PLC registers, bit status and integer data between EtherNet/IP tags and DH485 nodes flexibly.

This gateway adopts DIN rail mounting for installation inside control cabinets. It is powered by 24 VDC industrial power supply and has front-panel LED indicators for power, Ethernet link, serial transmit, receive and fault status, which helps technicians quickly locate communication faults during commissioning and maintenance. All point mapping, baud rate, node address and polling parameters are configured through ProSoft Configuration Builder software. It provides complete diagnostic tools to monitor link status, frame errors and real-time data exchange. It has reliable EMC performance to resist industrial electromagnetic interference, with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C for stable continuous operation.

This protocol gateway is widely used in factory automation retrofitting, production line upgrade, old PLC system interconnection, material handling equipment reconstruction and spare replacement projects. It allows new EtherNet/IP PLCs and HMI to communicate with legacy DH485 PLCs without replacing the whole old control system. As a discontinued legacy communication gateway, the 5201-DFNT-DH485 is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for running automation systems. It maintains stable cross-protocol data transmission, preserves the original control logic and greatly reduces the renovation cost of the whole automation platform.
