The BENTLY NEVADA 3500/70M four-channel reciprocating impulse and velocity monitor module is a full-height plug-in card designed exclusively for the Bently Nevada 3500 TSI machinery protection system, specially developed for reciprocating compressors. It receives signals from seismic transducers including accelerometers and Velomitor velocity sensors such as 330400 and 330425 series sensors. The module adopts channel pair configuration through 3500 configuration software, supporting multiple measurement functions: impulse acceleration, acceleration, reciprocating velocity and low-frequency reciprocating velocity. It can capture the impact vibration generated by crosshead, valve and bearing faults inside reciprocating compressors, which is difficult to detect by ordinary vibration monitor modules. Users can set independent Alert and Danger alarm thresholds for each measurement channel. When the vibration impulse value exceeds preset limits, the module sends alarm and trip signals to rack relay modules to trigger local alarm indication or safety shutdown, protecting reciprocating equipment from severe mechanical damage. It provides buffered transducer output for waveform analysis and fault diagnosis. Front panel LED indicators display module OK status, communication activity and channel bypass state for convenient on-site inspection. The module supports hot swapping under normal rack operation, hardware replacement will not interrupt the machinery protection safety logic. Built-in continuous self-diagnosis function automatically detects sensor open circuit, short circuit and internal hardware faults, and uploads fault information to the rack system in real time. Multiple rear I/O termination boards are optional, including standard type and intrinsically safe barrier versions for ordinary industrial sites and hazardous explosive zones. It complies with API 618 reciprocating compressor monitoring standard and SIL2 safety certification. Widely applied in petrochemical and metallurgy industries, it is used on large reciprocating compressors to provide continuous online impact and vibration monitoring for crossheads, valves and crankcase components.
