The BENTLY NEVADA 3500/45 position monitor module is a full-height four-channel monitoring card designed for the Bently Nevada 3500 TSI machinery protection rack system. It can connect with multiple types of position sensors including eddy current proximity probes, rotary position transducers RPT, AC/DC LVDT linear variable differential transformers and rotary potentiometers. The module adopts channel pair configuration through dedicated rack configuration software. Channels 1&2 and channels 3&4 can be set independently to complete different position measurement tasks, covering axial thrust position, differential expansion, case expansion and valve position monitoring. Among them, case expansion measurement can only be configured on channels 3 and 4. Users can set independent Alert and Danger alarm thresholds for each measurement channel. When the monitored displacement parameters exceed preset limit values, the module transmits alarm and trip signals to rack relay modules, triggering local alarm indication or safety interlock shutdown to prevent large rotating machinery from serious damage caused by axial thrust overload and thermal expansion deviation. It cooperates with matched rear I/O terminal boards, with optional internal termination, external termination and intrinsically safe barrier versions for ordinary industrial sites or hazardous explosion areas. Front panel LED indicators display module OK status, communication link and channel bypass state for convenient on-site inspection. The module supports hot swapping under normal rack operation, replacement operation will not break the machinery protection safety loop. Built-in continuous self-diagnosis function automatically detects sensor open circuit, short circuit and internal hardware faults, and uploads fault event information to the rack system in real time. It complies with API 670 industry standard and SIL2 safety certification, widely applied in petrochemical, power generation and metallurgy industries, matched with steam turbines, gas turbines and centrifugal compressors, providing reliable shaft displacement and thermal expansion online monitoring and safety protection for critical turbomachinery.
