TRICONEX EPI3382 is an Enhanced Processor Interface Module built with triple modular redundancy (TMR) architecture for Triconex Tricon safety instrumented systems (SIS). This TMR safety system module acts as the core interface unit between the Tricon main processor and I/O rack backplane, responsible for high-speed signal transmission and data exchange between the controller and I/O modules. The Tricon enhanced processor interface module adopts synchronized triple 36MHz processor channels, using 2-out-of-3 voting logic to eliminate single point of failure and guarantee continuous operation even if one channel fails. It supports fast system hardware diagnostics, continuously monitoring backplane communication, module status, power supply and internal hardware faults, and sends fault alarms to the Tricon engineering workstation in real time. The module features hot swap operation, maintenance technicians can replace the faulty module online without shutting down the whole safety system. Front panel LED indicators display module PASS, FAULT and communication state for convenient on-site inspection and troubleshooting. It is compatible with Tricon v10 and above firmware versions and can be installed in the dedicated processor slot of standard Tricon rack.
