TRICONEX 4119 also known as EICM4119 is an enhanced intelligent communication module built with triple modular redundancy (TMR) architecture for Triconex Tricon safety instrumented systems (SIS). This TMR safety module enables bidirectional data exchange between the Tricon main processor and external automation equipment, HMI, DCS and TriStation engineering workstation. The Tricon enhanced intelligent communication module is equipped with four configurable serial ports plus one parallel printer port. The serial ports support RS232, RS422 and RS485 interfaces, compatible with Modbus RTU and Modbus ASCII protocols, and each serial channel can be independently set as Modbus master or slave. The RS485 bus can connect up to 32 slave devices with long transmission distance. The parallel port supports connection to logging printers for hard copy output of alarm and event records. Each serial channel adopts galvanic isolation to block ground loop noise and electromagnetic interference from field wiring. It continuously monitors communication link status, data CRC check and internal hardware health, and triggers fault alarms once link interruption or hardware abnormality is detected. The module supports hot swap operation, maintenance personnel can replace the faulty communication module online without shutting down the whole safety system. Front panel LED indicators display power, link activity and fault status for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. It can be installed in dedicated communication slot of standard Tricon rack and cooperates with Tricon processor and I/O modules. Widely applied in oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical and power industries, this TRICONEX 4119 communication module serves for ESD emergency shutdown, fire and gas detection and burner management safety interlock systems.
