TRICONEX 4101 also known as ICM4101 is an inter-cabinet communication module built with triple modular redundancy (TMR) architecture for Triconex Tricon safety instrumented systems (SIS). This TMR safety module is used to establish reliable high-speed communication links between the main controller cabinet and remote I/O cabinets in distributed SIS configurations. The Tricon inter-cabinet communication module is equipped with dual redundant highway ports, running the proprietary Tricon inter-cabinet highway protocol at 1Mbps transmission speed. It performs 2-out-of-3 voting on all transmitted and received data to eliminate single point of failure and guarantee data integrity. It continuously monitors communication link health, signal quality and internal hardware status. If cable breakage, link interruption or hardware failure occurs, fault alarms will be immediately sent to the Tricon engineering workstation. The module supports hot swap operation, maintenance personnel can replace the faulty module online without shutting down the whole safety system. Front panel LED indicators display module power, link activity and fault status for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. It can be installed in dedicated communication slots of standard Tricon rack and cooperates with Tricon processor and all series I/O modules.
