TRICONEX 3381 is a 6-channel TMR pulse input module built with triple modular redundancy (TMR) architecture for Triconex Tricon safety instrumented systems (SIS). This TMR speed monitoring module collects pulse signals from magnetic speed sensors mounted on rotating equipment such as steam turbines, compressors and pumps, and converts pulse frequency signals into accurate RPM rotational speed data for the Tricon main controller. The Tricon pulse input module adopts independent channel galvanic isolation design to suppress electromagnetic interference and ground loop noise from field sensor wiring. Each channel has triple redundant signal processing circuits, and 2-out-of-3 voting logic is applied to eliminate single point of failure and ensure reliable speed measurement. Continuous built-in channel diagnostics can detect sensor open circuit, short circuit, signal loss and internal hardware faults, and upload fault alarm messages to the Tricon engineering workstation in real time. The module supports hot swap operation, maintenance personnel can replace the faulty module online without shutting down the whole safety system. Front panel LED indicators display module PASS, FAULT and each channel signal state for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. It can be installed in standard Tricon rack and cooperates with Tricon processor and other I/O modules.
