Honeywell 6219937 is a bus scanner module designed for Honeywell IPC 620 and IPC 621 control platform,its main purpose is cyclic I/O scanning and reliable bus polling for distributed remote I/O racks on parallel expansion network. This scanner module connects to the main processor backplane and acts as the network master device to continuously poll all remote I/O racks connected on the parallel bus. It reads mass discrete feedback and analog process signals from remote termination assemblies and I/O modules,packs the collected point data and transmits them to the primary processor for logic calculation and closed-loop control. Meanwhile,it distributes output action commands issued by the processor to each remote I/O rack in sequence. It supports automatic rack identification and address detection,can identify the module type and channel configuration of each remote rack during startup,reducing manual configuration workload for large distributed I/O systems. It monitors the communication heartbeat of every remote rack in real time. Once a remote rack goes offline,cable breaks or communication frame error occurs,it will lock the related I/O points according to preset fail-safe rules and record timestamped fault events,uploading alarm information to the main processor for maintenance prompt and fault tracing. It undertakes all cyclic bus polling work,so the main processor can focus on executing safety interlock and control strategy without being occupied by mass I/O communication tasks.
