FOXBORO FBM214 and FBM216 are matching 8-channel HART analog input modules under FOXBORO Compact 200 I/A Series DCS. Both models accept 0~20mA /4~20mA analog signals and support HART FSK digital communication for smart field transmitters. FBM214 is the standard non-redundant HART AI card with group channel isolation. FBM216 is designed specially for redundant module pair deployment, using master-tracker hot backup architecture. Each channel can read process variable plus HART diagnostic data from pressure, flow and level transmitters. The modules adopt 16-bit sigma-delta ADC for high precision signal conversion. The PCB is conformal coated to resist vibration, dust, humidity and electromagnetic interference in harsh industrial environments. They communicate with FCP controller over redundant 2Mbps fieldbus. FBM214 and FBM216 share the same HART AI hardware foundation, the core difference lies in redundancy capability. FBM216 can be paired as master and tracker module for critical measuring points, if master card fails, tracker automatically takes over without system interruption. FBM214 is used for ordinary non-critical measuring points to save project cost. Both cards can use the same FTA terminal assembly and shielded termination cable, which simplifies spare stock management. They are widely adopted in petrochemical, refining and power plant DCS systems for HART instrument acquisition, and can replace old FBM214 or FBM216 cards on legacy I/A DCS systems.
