FOXBORO FBM17D is a relay-type discrete output fieldbus module for FOXBORO I/A Series DCS system, offering 16 isolated relay output channels. It receives control commands from DCS controller and uses mechanical relay contacts to switch external loads, such as large solenoid valves, motor contactor coils and field alarm devices. This module adopts galvanic channel isolation and conformal coated PCB, protecting electronic components from vibration, dust, humidity and electromagnetic interference in harsh industrial environments. It communicates with DCS controller over redundant HDLC fieldbus. Built-in continuous self-diagnosis monitors relay contact faults and circuit overload, triggers alarms for technicians to quickly locate field load issues and reduce plant downtime.
